magnesium-incontinence-400x400-resized-600Recently through the work of the wonderful Dr. Mark Sircus out of Brazil as well as Dr. Ron Cusson I’ve been adding more magnesium into my life. Magnesium for those that don’t know is (what some people call) THE most important mineral that we need to be healthy.

I’m not sure how true that is because if you were to remove any one mineral completely from a person it wouldn’t take long to see some health affects from that.

Be that as it may, I’ve heard many highly respected people like those mentioned above along with David Wolfe, Gabriel Cousens and many others state unequivocally that the #1 mineral we need is magnesium.

Some time ago I was told by some well meaning doctors that I had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Were they correct at that time? Perhaps. You see a diagnosis is simply a snapshot in time that’s all.

We know our bodies are changing every minute and every second. What’s true one day might not be true the next day.

As a result I knew I wanted to take something for my heart. Whenever I venture into this type of action I’m always sure to ask myself, what’s the motivating factor for taking this substance? If I say I’m taking magnesium because I was diagnosed with a heart condition, then I’m re-leasing the power of my body to heal, into the hands of doctors who may or may not have even been correct.

It’s important to not own your diagnosis. A diagnosis is simply some interesting facts that may or may not be true at one given time. That’s all.

If I say I’m taking the magnesium in order to prevent a heart attack, I’m acting out of fear. Fear is never a good foundation upon which to make any actions or statements. This would imply that heart attacks are bad and that death is bad. Having that world view would imply that I somehow think I am my body and that this existence is all there is.

Some people who have lived through situations like heart attacks and chronic degenerative diseases like cancer will say it was the best thing that ever happened to them.

So it’s important for me to take supplements in order to “become healthier” so that I can more fully live life and do the work that I was put here on earth to do. What we fear usually manifests in our lives. Most likely because we think about it, we stew over it, we spend our energy and emotion ruminating on some fear that it’s almost like it “must” happen in order to justify everything we’ve previously invested in it.

I digress…

[notification style=”success” font_size=”14px” closeable=”false” width=”50%”] “Magnesium is responsible for over 300 biochemical processes in our bodies that we know about. From maintaining muscle and nerve function, to brain health, to building bones, to supporting the immune system. A magnesium deficiency can spell DISASTER for you if you’re not careful.” – Nutritionist Shawn Stevenson [/notification]

So recently I’ve been thinking about how I’ve had some muscle cramps lately and some finger twitches when I work out at the gym and some eye twitches to go along with that.

I thought, I bet I’m deficient in magnesium and I think it’s high time to start boosting my intake of this most important mineral. In fact magnesium is so important that Dr. Sircus has written entire books on the subject which I highly recommend. He’s got a 3 pillar approach to healing disease and there’s a reason why this is pillar #1 in all of his protocols.

Just about every health condition can be traced back to magenesium deficiency.

So what are some ways we can incorporate more magnesium into our bodies?

  • Take it as a supplement
  • Eat more foods high in magnesium
  • Foot baths
  • Add some to regular baths
  • Get a magnesium massage
  • Nebulize it in a vapor form into the lungs
  • Rub it on the skin before bed
  • You can use it as a mouthwash
  • And much more!

Magnesium is critical for all of our cells to function and getting the right kind is essential.

Magnesium when you take it transdermally can make your skin feel a little bit itchy and scratchy but you get used to it. What I like to do is spray it on parts of my body that don’t get exposed like perhaps my thighs or on my rib cage and let it sit on my skin for an hour or so and then take a shower before bed to wash it off.

If you don’t it’ll leave your skin feeling sticky and a little bit oily. I’ve been noticing that I sleep better. That’s about all I’m noticing for now but I haven’t done the foot baths in the video below. When I do the magnesium foot baths I’m sure I’ll start to notice a lot more changes in how I feel.

Magnesium is a wonderful and very necessary substance and I highly suggest you learn how to work with it in your daily life and make it a practice to get enough magensium into your body each day.

As I experiment more with magnesium I’m sure I’ll notice all kinds of other benefits that I’ll make sure to report here on the blog.

What about you? How do you use magnesium in your daily life and what benefits have you noticed from using it?
