It drives me crazy when people want natural hayfever relief (or any kind of natural cure to anything) without getting to the root cause (which I share below). They just want a supplement to take and continue living a toxic lifestyle.

It’s easy to pop a pill or take a supplement but in order to really find a natural remedy for hayfever that works for you, you must cleanse and restore your liver health and colon health.

Think about it, there was a time in your life when Spring rolled around and you never had allergies to pollen or dust right?

Why do you think that is? All of a sudden did the pollen or dust become more toxic?

No.

Your body accumulated toxins to the point where it was overloaded and your organs couldn’t excrete them properly.

You don’t have to suffer each year with hay fever if you don’t want. You can take an over the counter pill if you’d like and it very well might work. But it will silently destroy your health slowly over time, which will require more drugs and more pills in an endless cycle.

Do you really want that?

Yes taking Vitamin C is better than taking a prescription medication, but ask yourself why do you suddenly need to take vitamin C? It’s because your body is overloaded with chemicals, heavy metals, toxins and parasites to the point where it cannot function the way it used to.

I suggest doing some major cleansing and detoxification regularly (I share info on that below) so that you no longer have hay fever allergies come Springtime. The other added benefits of regular detoxification is having more energy, sleeping better, more resilient to life’s stressors, regulated hormones, less colds and flus, preventing common diseases, increasing lifespan and health span.

Getting a little of of natural relief from hay fever is benefit #350 on the list of why you should cleanse regularly.

So let’s dive in.

But first…

Hayfever Stats

Hay fever, some of our medical friends like to sound more educated so they call it allergic rhinitis. I’m gonna call it hayfever and it currently affects between 10 and 30 percent of the world’s population. Crazy right?

What’s surprising is that it was unheard of 200 years ago (hmmm I wonder why?) and was first described in 1819 by Dr. John Bostock. This makes seasonal allergies one of the fastest-growing epidemics in history. The prevalence of hay fever has been linked to factors like industrialization and environmental changes.  You could add modern tech driven life to that that’s devoid of any real nutrition.

Hay Fever Symptoms

Hay fever symptoms can significantly impact your daily life, causing discomfort and fatigue. The constant sneezing and blowing your nose takes real energy! Common symptoms include respiratory issues, skin reactions, and general malaise. Here is a list of symptoms I dug up typically associated with hay fever:

  • Sneezing
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Itchy or watery eyes
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Swollen skin, eyes, or lips.

Problems With Medications

I have to say, the common medications for hay fever, like antihistamines, decongestants, and corticosteroids, can have tons of “side effects” (remember that’s a made up term from the medical industry, there are only “effects”) that may harm your body.

Antihistamines, especially first-generation ones like diphenhydramine, are known in the scientific literature to cause drowsiness, slower reaction times, and confusion. I’ve seen this happen in  older adults more than  younger adults but still. Long-term use of anticholinergic antihistamines has been linked to an increased risk of dementia. And don’t forget my friends, doctors themselves are the 3rd leading cause of death in America.

Decongestants, like pseudoephedrine, can have amphetamine-like effects, which some studies I’ve seen show that they could lead to irregular heartbeats and high blood pressure. Not good. If you have arrythmias, and are taking decongestants, they could be linked.

Corticosteroids, when used long-term, can cause severe effects, including increased risks of diabetes, cataracts, osteoporosis, and muscle weakness, as well as suppressed immunity and higher susceptibility to infections. If you’re on them, you need to seriously consider talking with your doctor and working with him or her to slowly wean off.

What Causes Hay Fever?

While conventional medicine often attributes hay fever to a sensitivity to pollen and other allergens, my research shows deeper underlying causes may involve gut and liver health.

If you have poor gut health, and imbalances in gut bacteria, this alone can prevent your immune system’s ability to regulate responses to allergens, leading to heightened sensitivity. Your liver alone has over 500 biological functions. Some people I’ve listened to call it our own internal Rife Machine.

I’ve also read some research showing that a lack of beneficial probiotics has been shown to disrupt your microbial diversity, which is essential for educating and modulating your immune system. Dr. Richard Massey was on our show years ago and he mentioned that the human gut lining should have 1,000 different species of bacteria and we are now down to about 400. That means we’ve lost 60% of our good microbiome living in our gut. No wonder we humans suffer from digestive issues and as a result hay fever and skin issues.

The other thing to consider is liver dysfunction as it can hinder your body’s ability to detoxify and process allergens effectively, which makes your symptoms even worse. It’s a snowball effect and it keeps compounding. This is why I recommend regular liver cleanses once per year along with a weekly maintenance routine of coffee enemas, ozone rectal insufflations and castor oil packs.

Be good to your liver, and you most likely will live a long healthy disease free life.

Other contributing factors to hay fever I’ve read would be an overuse of antibiotics, poor diets, and environmental toxins, all of which can disrupt gut-liver balance and immune function.

Last but not least, food allergies are always going to be at the top of my list when somebody asks me about natural hayfever relief.

Natural Hayfever Relief

  1. Vitamins:
    • Vitamin C: Often referred to as “nature’s antihistamine,” it helps reduce mucus and congestion. It can blunt the body’s response to allergens and is a natural source found in stinging nettle leaves.
    • Vitamin D: A deficiency in vitamin D is associated with an increased risk of allergies. Ensuring adequate levels may help reduce symptoms. I recommend avoiding vitamin D supplements and getting it from the sun & if you can’t, get it from a light source.
    • Magnesium: magnesium is essential as it prevents mast cells from releasing excessive histamine, and deficiencies in magnesium are widespread, which can exacerbate allergic reactions.
    • Selenium: supports the production of glutathione peroxidase, an antioxidant that helps reduce inflammation and has been linked to lower asthma rates.
    • Vitamin E: vitamin E has been shown to reduce immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels, which are elevated in allergic reactions, and can help manage conditions like asthma and hay fever.
  2. Supplements:
    • Natural D-Hist: A combination of quercetin, bromelain, stinging nettles, N-acetyl cysteine, and vitamin C. It helps dampen inflammation, promotes a normal mucus response, and clears nasal passages .
    • Pycnogenol: This supplement, when taken several weeks before exposure to allergens, can dampen the immune system’s reaction to pollen.
    • Probiotics: These may help tone down the immune response to allergens, potentially reducing hay fever symptoms.
  3. Herbal Extracts:
    • Butterbur (Petasites hybridus): Clinical trials have shown it to relieve symptoms as effectively as popular antihistamine drugs.
    • Nettle Extract (Urtica dioica): Reduces sneezing and itching in people with hay fever.
  4. Biohacks:

These vitamins, minerals, and biohacks can complement other natural remedies to help manage hay fever symptoms effectively. But if you want natural hayfever relief that lasts forever, it’s essential to cleanse and nourish the body and in particular the main organs involved which are the liver and colon.

Once per year, I do a liver cleanse and a colon cleanse that I would highly suggest you consider as well.

Then weekly I do one coffee enema. Normally I do those on Wednesdays but you can figure out what works for you. Also 3x per week I’ll go to bed with a castor oil pack over my liver.

Before bed each night I take some charcoal powder in water along with some clay, just to detoxify while I sleep. I also do ozone insufflations 3x per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday before I go to sleep.

These are all things you can do throughout the year on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly and yearly) to maintain your health, energy and vitality. Doing so will not just help you live a long healthy disease free life but also avoid seasonal allergies like hayfever.

Conclusion:

As you can see conventional doctors will tell you to simply take a pill or medication that masks the symptoms of hay fever. Hay fever is an alert from your body to you, that you have an imbalance going on and/or a toxic overload happening.

Or it could be both.

I recommend regular cleansing and detoxification along with supporting the organs from a nutrient perspective. When you cleanse and detoxify on a regular basis, you’re putting much less stress on particular organs.

I would follow yearly cleansing protocol that is pre-scheduled for you. This way, no matter what month you’re in, you’ll know what’s coming up and how you can prepare for your cleanse. Remember, that your liver has over 500 functions and your colon is most likely toxic. When you cleanse regularly, you’ll not only notice more energy, better sleep and less colds and flus, but you’ll also notice things like a yearly hay fever allergy just doesn’t happen any longer.

Wouldn’t that be cool?

But you have to put in the work and get on a regular schedule of cleansing to get there.

Do you have it in you?
