It’s been forever since we’ve had a broadcast!
It has been a long long time since we’ve done a show and for that we apologize. The main reason it has been so long is that I actually came down with what I think was whooping cough. My symptoms were a dry, wispy unproductive cough that produced a very small amount of phlem in my upper lung. Whooping cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection caused by the bacterium bordetella pertussis from what I was able to ascertain online. I read that whooping cough can last up to 3 months in some people?
Isn’t that incredibly nuts? I can’t believe it can hold on that long. I wouldn’t wish that cough on anybody. It’s very hard to sleep. Your organs feel bruised and damaged from coughing all day and night. I had lots of headaches from all the coughing and my ribs felt like they had been punched by Mike Tyson.
On top of that I never felt rested because I couldn’t sleep because of the coughing. But what made it worse was the fact that I wasn’t able to do any shows or produce any content for you our wonderful listeners.
I felt like it was a kick in the pants from God telling me I just need to take some time for myself and not beat myself up over my inability to produce content for you guys.
Hopefully you had a wonderful Christmas and New Years and 2014 is starting out amazing.
We also talked a lot in this particular show about the journey we’ve been on in 2013 and how much fun it has been for us to grow with all of you listeners.
It’s been so much fun we can’t even tell you.
Another concept we talked about is how interesting it is in our culture that we encourage children to pursue careers in areas where they have talents but we never ask them if they’re passionate about those same career paths. Having a talent for accounting and absolutely loving it is something completely different.
Just because we’re gifted in some way doesn’t mean we ought to pursue those areas of life for our careers. We teach children to do this all the time with “career day” in school.
We should step back and ask them what they love and have them attempt to build a career around that.
We also took a lot of listener questions and had a lot of fun.
We hope you enjoy this show as much as we did making it. Please forgive me for my coughing in the background. As you can probably hear I’m not 100% over this whooping cough yet but I’m getting close!

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – – Steve Jobs
