Do you guys like our Free For All Friday (FFAF) shows? I hope you do because they are our most favorite shows to produce here in the studio.
I think the reason why I like them so much is because it’s kind of like digestion. Each week we get people giving us their ideas and talking AT us and AT our audience and Friday is a fun time to absorb and assimilate what they say. Sometimes we agree with a lot of our guests and sometimes we don’t.
It’s really pretty interesting but I think the main idea we want to infuse into the world is that there are many ideas and healing options that many people have never known about before.
Just knowing there are viable options for healing naturally from something helps tremendously with your psyche in dealing with whatever situation you’re going through.
Speaking of options here are 3 events we wanted to let you know about. The first one is over but you can still purchase the entire event which I HIGHLY recommend. The other two are wrapping up here in a couple of days so register for them as soon as you can.
The 3 FREE events are:
We’re signed up for all 3 and highly recommend you guys register so you can get access to them as well.
We talked in this show a lot about the difference between “being” vs “doing”. Doesn’t seem like in our culture we’re fixated on achievement, goal setting, and accomplishing things? It’s a fine balance between having goals, staying motivated and seeking to improve yourselves and yet not having any attachment to those things.
I know for me personally I love to work on myself. I love to add new daily disciplines into my life that help me achieve something greater on all levels. But I’ve found the trick is to not be attached to whether or not you actually achieve those goals or not beat yourself up if you don’t get everything crossed off on your to do list.
I have to constantly remind myself of this little mantra: “You couldn’t have done more. You did the best you can”
Something else to consider is that that statement is true only if you believe it and didn’t actually squander your time away that day. Does that make sense? If you wasted time on a day and watched 4 hours of TV when you know you didn’t have time for that, then the above statement would only be lying to yourself. So if you want to believe that statement you actually have to live in harmony with your goals and ideals. Once you do that, there’s harmony in your words, beliefs and actions.
Do you guys struggle with this in our fast paced society that’s focused on achievement?
Some other topics we discussed were overcoming fears in our lives. Kate brought up a good question which was, “Who would you be if you had no friends and family?” It’s an interesting thought because oftentimes we say or don’t say our true feelings because of our fear about how these people might react to us. We behave in ways that are not congruent with who we really are.
I told a story of how a bee caused me to get afraid when it flew close to me. How big is a bee? How could something so small freak me out like that? We talked about how each day we are probably presented with 20 or 30 situations which will help us to overcome fear and actually create new pathways to rewire our brains. We actually can become different people based on whether we overcome fearful situations or give into them.
