It’s always darkest before the dawn, as my dad always told me growing up.

Today was such a day. Things simmered down for me digestion wise, and I was able to handle most things I ate well with ease for the most part.

Woke up to a bowl of steaming freshly boiled bone broth from the night before, followed two hours later by chia seeds soaked in coconut milk with a dash of organic pure vanilla extract. Later on, sauteed zucchini slices with coconut oil with salt and pepper (and a dash of ghee to try that out) and ALL good so far.

Dinner I branched out and made sweet potato shepherd’s pie and ALL good there too. Ended tonight with a fresh green juice, and I have to say I am THANKFUL that today was a bit of a relief. I was not sure which way today would go with adding some more foods back in.

Very warming foods today-perfect for my Vata type.

Spent most of the day in the kitchen to be honest, with a two hour Free For All Friday show for EHR, which is always a blast.

Feeling good is most certainly a continual journey.

What made my day truly meaningful was taking time out of my day to spend over at my parents house this evening. Pulling up in front and seeing the beautifully hung white Christmas lights warmed my soul, and I felt a peace in my heart that only being back at home can bring.

I am SO blessed that my parents are first of all still together, but secondly that they are still in the same home that I grew up in since I was three.

Walking in the door tonight, I was greeted by the familiar smells of mom cooking, the Christmas candles that bring back memories year after year, and the familiar ornaments from our lifetime adorning the tree.

For the hour I was there, I just felt good. My worries and struggles seemed to melt away, and were replaced by cinnamon scented peace.

My favorite part was the three of us-sitting on the ground together around the tree, watching the trolley car move back and forth on it’s track under the tree.

Time stood still. No where to hurry off to-just BE in the moment.

It was the highlight of my day.

I left whole and complete.

FEEL GOOD MOMENT OF THE DAY: well, like I said, the above was the highlight for sure. The one thing that might be even better was the invitation to come back and do it again before Christmas. It’s a plan.
