I think it’s good that you’re searching for homeopathic remedies for high cholesterol but I want you to question two very important premises…

  1. High cholesterol is bad
  2. High cholesterol causes heart attacks

I answered those two false assumption in an article I wrote recently titled: how to lower cholesterol without medication which I would highly suggest you read. Your life may depend on it. I’m not being dramatic, it’s true.

If you make the wrong decision and follow a doctor, we know that can be very dangerous to your health. It “can be” but it may not be. It’s up to all of us to do your own research, especially when a doctor has to follow the standard of care and tells you that you need to be on statin drugs.

Why Cholesterol Matters

Cholesterol isn’t some invisible number that needs to be lowered. Without cholesterol you would die. Eating cholesterol by the way doesn’t do much to raise your cholesterol levels in your body. To lower a number associated with an important hormone (like cholesterol) can be very damaging to your long term health.

Cholesterol is extremely important for health and longevity and I would argue does not lead to heart attacks.

Here’s some reasons why cholesterol is important and you should think twice about lowering it.

Cholesterol is important for…

    • Supporting Our Cell Membranes: Cholesterol plays a huge role in building and maintaining the structure of our cell membranes. Without it, our cells wouldn’t have the integrity or flexibility they need to function properly. – Source

  • Hormone Production: It’s a key building block for hormones like estrogen, testosterone, and cortisol, which are critical for regulating everything from mood to metabolism. If you want balanced hormones, you need cholesterol! – Source
  • Creating Vitamin D: Cholesterol is also converted into vitamin D when we’re exposed to sunlight, and that’s vital for bone health, immune support, and overall well-being. So, without cholesterol, we wouldn’t be able to produce this important vitamin. – Source
  • Helping with Digestion: Cholesterol is essential for making bile acids, which are necessary to digest fats and absorb fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K. It’s what helps us break down that healthy oils we’re eating. – Source
  • Boosting Brain Health: Did you know that about 25% of the cholesterol in our bodies is found in the brain? It’s crucial for cognitive functions like memory and learning. In fact, higher cholesterol levels have been linked to better brain health as we age. Bet you didn’t know that! – Source
  • Protecting Against Cognitive Decline: There’s even research showing that having enough cholesterol can lower the risk of Alzheimer’s and other forms of cognitive decline. – Source
  • Acting as a Brain Antioxidant: Cholesterol has antioxidant properties in the brain, helping to protect our neurons and keep our minds sharp. – Source
  • Transporting Vital Nutrients: It also helps shuttle fat-soluble nutrients into our cells, making sure we get the full benefit from those vitamins and nutrients. – Source

How Does Homeopathy Work?

Homeopathy is something that we have some experience with, although I’ve never personally tried homeopathic remedies for high cholesterol but I’ve tried it a number of times for coughs and flus and most of the time it works amazingly well. Surprisingly well. I would say it works for us around 70% of the time. It’s just hard to match the symptoms with the remedy because there can be multiple symptoms for each remedy and they can bleed into one another.

I like homeopathy because it’s easy for kids to take these little pellets. Will and Ben call them peddles. 🙂 But let’s get into what homeopathy is..

Essentially it’s a holistic system that treats people on multiple levels (think mind, body and spirit). It doesn’t just treat the symptom. In this way homeopathy is very similar to AyurVedic medicine which assigns people into three “doshas” which is a whole science and study in an of itself. It’s just a comparison that’s similar.

Homeopathy was founded by Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century and its foundational principle is that “like cures like”. The idea is that a particular substance that a person has a reaction to (like say tomato’s) can be diluted into tiny particles (almost undetectable under a microscope) to treat similar symptoms in another person. It really gets into energy medicine and vibrational frequencies.

If you think about it everything is either a particle or a wave in quantum physics. As either a particle or a wave, it’s vibrating and moving. When you take particle of a tomato for example and put it into a glass jar of water, those particles (including the frequencies of those particles) are going to get into the water and cause the water to behave differently as a result. Then you can physically take the piece of tomato out of the water and the water will still carry those frequencies.

So essentially there’s zero tomato in the water, yet there’s homeopathic vibrational frequencies of the tomato still in that water (even though no particles could be detected even under and electron microscope).

This is serious energy medicine.

As a result if you were deathly allergic to peanuts you could take a homeopathic remedy for peanuts and not have any anaphylactic shock because there are no actual peanuts in the substance.

Remedies are prepared by what they call succussions (or vigorous shaking continually) where they dilute a substance and shake it.

When it’s all done, the homeopathic solution (liquid or pellet) will stimulate your body’s own healing immune system to mount an immune response. These homeopathic remedies can be prepared and used for anything from bug bites and rashes to cancer and remedies for high cholesterol.

So yes they can be used to treat symptoms but homeopathic remedies can be used to treat the whole body so the patient can heal at a deeper level.

This approach with it’s ability to stimulate your own body to heal (and get rid of symptoms) has been the main reason why homeopathy has stood the test of time over hundreds of years of use.

5 Homeopathic Remedies For High Cholesterol

1. Cholesterinum

If you have high cholesterol, especially linked to liver issues, Cholesterinum might be a good fit. It’s used when there’s a history of liver congestion, gallstones, or even jaundice. I like to think of this remedy as the go-to for people whose cholesterol problems are tied directly to sluggish liver function. It works by stimulating the liver, helping it process and eliminate cholesterol more efficiently.

2. Allium sativum

This remedy is basically homeopathic garlic. It’s excellent if you’re dealing with fatty deposits in your arteries or hardened arteries (atherosclerosis). People who might benefit from Allium sativum often have digestive issues along with their high cholesterol, like bloating or a heavy feeling in the stomach. It works by improving circulation and helping break down those fatty plaques that cause blockages in your blood vessels.

3. Crataegus

Think of Crataegus as a heart tonic. It’s often used for people with high cholesterol who also have heart problems—like poor circulation or weak heart function. This remedy helps by strengthening the heart muscle and improving blood flow. If your cholesterol issues are leading to heart strain or you’re worried about cardiovascular health, Crataegus can help improve overall heart efficiency and break down fatty buildup in your arteries.

4. Aurum metallicum

If your high cholesterol is paired with high blood pressure or emotional symptoms like anxiety or depression, Aurum metallicum could be the answer. This remedy is particularly suited for those who feel a deep sense of responsibility or stress, and their cholesterol problems might be linked to emotional overload. Aurum helps by balancing the mental and emotional strain, which can indirectly support better heart and blood vessel function.

5. Lycopodium

For people who have cholesterol issues alongside digestive problems like gas, bloating, and liver discomfort, Lycopodium is a strong choice. This remedy is really great for those with a slower metabolism and a tendency to crave sweets and fatty foods, which of course doesn’t help cholesterol levels. It works by boosting liver function and improving digestion, helping your body break down fats better.

Conclusion

When it comes to high cholesterol, you want to know why it’s high in the first place and to question whether or not having high cholesterol actually leads to more heart attacks (it doesn’t). You should also know the danger of statin drugs and how they wreck your hormones and lead to dementia. I would highly suggest you read my article here for more information about those questions along with links to studies and even book your cardiologist should read before he sees you again.

As long as doctors, tell their patients about the risks of drugs and try to tackle the real reason why cholesterol is high AND tell them about natural remedies, then I believe the patient has been given true informed consent. If they do research and choose to ignore homeopathic remedies for high cholesterol and take statins instead, that’s fine. That’s on them.

But it really angers me that none of what I mentioned above happens.

What medical doctor ever talks with you about your light environment, your sleep habits or possible homeopathic remedies for high cholesterol? It never does and that’s a crying shame.

Questions:

  1. Do you have high cholesterol? What are your numbers?
  2. Has your doctor given you informed consent?
  3. How does he talk about Statin drugs….favorably?
