I get lots of questions about what supplements (if any) I take on a daily basis. This question comes up a lot actually and so I figure it’s probably time to divulge a little bit in terms of what I do on a daily basis.
First let me preface this entire post. You guys shouldn’t follow me or us. We don’t know what the heck we’re doing in terms of diet. The more I learn the more I realize I don’t know. There are just so many factors to being healthy and learning what to eat.
And before I get into what specific supplements we’re taking right now, I want to say a little bit about why I think supplements are helpful and necessary in today’s modern world.
Many people argue that we shouldn’t take them. And supplements ideal should be excipient free, come from a once living source and not contain magnesium stearate or other binders like that. So with that said, when I say supplements I’m referring to the highest quality supplements available.
You’ll have to do your own research.
Until I see further evidence I’m leaning towards taking supplements and here’s why. Sure supplements aren’t natural because they might be isolated substances devoid of buffering compounds but neither are the things below.
Stress
We’re exposed to so much stress these days on a much more consistent basis than at any other time in human history.
EMF Radiation
When in human history were we exposed to electromagenetic fields from iPhones and tablets? We’re constantly exposed to powerlines, cell towers and much more. This stuff is not natural.
Chemtrails
Constantly we’re exposed to chemical and jet fuels falling on us from the sky. These are not natural.
Soil Depletion
The soils have been bankrupt and devoid of minerals since the 1930’s! I’ve heard that we would have to eat 53 peaches today in order to get the same level of nutrition (vitamins and minerals) as eating 1 peach in the 1950’s.
Chemical Exposure
Every day we’re exposed to radical levels of toxic chemicals. We have plastics, paints, carpets, and car exhaust that is just not natural.
Toxic Foods
Considering most of you all eat an organic diet or even a diet that consists of food you have grown yourself, this might not apply. But the chemicals and toxins contained in packaged food that people eat is shocking.
So as you can see we don’t live in a clean pristine world. If we did, I’d rather get all our nutrition from food. I really would. I don’t like taking supplements but I do.
So here is a list of what we’re taking right this moment. We rotate on and off things all the time to test what we like so many items that we promote in our store are not on this list. I’m going to be 100% honest and let you know what we’re taking as of this writing.
Yes Supplements
These are essential fatty acids. We got turned onto these from our show with Professor Brian Peskin.
Bio Astin
This is the super antioxidant called astaxanthin. It’s great for your heart, your lungs, inflammation, wound healing, cancer prevention and so much more.
Vitamin B-17
We starting taking Vitamin B-17 (aka laetrile or amygdalin) for cancer prevention after our show with G Edward Griffin as well as Dr. Carl O’helvie.
Magnesium Taurate
We take this for our heart. As many of you know I was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardio myopathy when I was 15. We were recommended to take magnesium taurate by Dr. Richard Massey (a GREAT natural doctor out of Texas here’s his email: docmassey@gmail.com).
Selenium
After our show with Keith Pendlebury and learning about the power of selenium for preventing cancers and other diseases we decided to buy a year’s worth supply and see how we like them.
Zymessence
This is a systemic pancreatic enzyme designed (not for digestion) but for eating up inflammation and internal fibrosis of the organs. After we spoke with Dr. William Wong we decided to give it a try for a few reasons. Kate wanted to dissolve her uterine fibroid before having a healthy baby. I wanted to prevent cancer and heart attacks as well as decrease inflammation inside my body.
Digestive Bitters
We take digestive bitters before we eat a meal (especially if it’s a heavy meal or if it’s cooked) to help digest our food better. Sometimes I’ll pop one or two in between meals as well to help my system run better. Thanks to Michael King and his work at Vitality Herbs and Clay!
Plant Enzymes
Because everything is based on digestion I figure we can’t ever have enough help in that department. Usually we’ll take one or two pills before each meal.
Boron
After a session I had with Chris Kehler he told me I was deficient in the mineral Boron. Here’s some information I found out about boron deficiency…
Boron deficiency symptoms include weakening of the bones, joint pain, and other symptoms commonly associated with osteoporosis and arthritis. Individuals suffering from a boron deficiency might excrete calcium in the urine. It is also thought that a boron deficiency might lead to the formation of kidney stones as a result of higher levels of calcium and magnesium deposits in the bloodstream.
Cognitive brain function might also be affected by a boron deficiency, leading to a lack of mental alertness. Studies indicate that boron has an effect on proper functioning of the brain and overall mental awareness. A lack of proper amounts of boron could result in both short and long term memory loss, poor dexterity, and a lack of eye-hand coordination.
Individuals with a boron deficiency can increase levels of the nutrient by consuming foods rich in boron. These include fresh fruits such as apples, grapes, and pears. Leafy vegetables, carrots, nuts, and grains are also good sources of boron. Calcium and vitamin D levels can also be improved by taking boron supplements. This might additionally be of benefit to postmenopausal women who are at a higher risk of developing osteoporosis, by contributing to the absorption of calcium in the bones.
Hydrochloric Acid (HCL)
We use these to help our stomachs create enough hydrochloric acid in order to break down food in our bellies for digestion. Remember it’s not what you eat but what you absorb, assimilate and deficate that matters.
Iodine
We wanted to buy some Lugols or Nacent but since we were at the health food store we decided to buy this on a whim. We take 2 drops per day and it lasts forever.
Zeolite
We love taking our zeolite to get rid of toxins, poisons, heavy metals and other chemicals or toxins that get into our bloodstream and intestines. I really like what Eddie Stone is doing over there at Touchstone Essentials.
Sacred Clay
This sacred clay is finely particulated and full of minerals with very high levels of silica. Usually I’ll take a teaspoon and add it to a smoothie or in some water upon rising.
D-Mannose
We take this for urinary tract infections and to keep that area of our bodies working properly.
Myomin
This was recommended to us when we spoke with Dr. William Wong for regulating hormones and keeping good hormone balance in our body.
L-Glutamine Powder
This stuff is amazing for helping to rebuild the micro villi inside the inner walls of the intestines. It improves digestion and allows for quicker recovery time after working out as well. This stuff is gold. We love it.
The Heavy Metal Cleanse by Brenda Watson
Brenda Watson was kind enough to write an article for our website a while back. We love her products and are currently taking her heavy metal cleanse which consists of 3 pills in the morning as well as 3 pills in the evening.
Well there you have it. I didn’t include powders that we take as well like Great Lakes Gelatin, Sun Warrior protein powder and other products like that. If I did this list would go on forever.
As we run out of supplements we cycle off some and add others back in. I’m a big fan of rotating your diet and supplement protocols. You don’t want to be on any one thing forever. If at the very least take 6 days on and 1 day off any and all supplements.
You can even do it with fasting or eating as well. Take one day per week and just do juices. I think you’ll find that very helpful.
So there you have it, those are our current supplements we are taking.
If you have any questions please comment below!
Hi Justin, great to meet you! I wanted to leave a short comment and ask if you have researched the nutritional supplement line USANA Health Sciences? I see that there are no products from that company in your picture of products you are taking.
-In good health,
Michael
Hey Michael. Thanks for your comment. I have never even heard of them actually. I’ll look them up!
